Hello and welcome to Project Educate! Today we will be focusing on assemblage. The term "assemblage" is credited to artist Jean Dubuffet and it refers to work that incorporates everyday/found objects that are not generally thought of as art materials. The incorporated objects can retain some of their original intent, while picking up a symbolic meaning in the artwork. Assemblage pieces can be 2D or 3D and also fit into the mix media, collage, and sculpture categories.
